On 14 February 2026 my life changed in a way I never expected.
That morning began like many others. I walked through the streets collecting plastic bottles – small pieces of plastic that meant a few coins and another day of survival. It was not an easy life, but it was the only way I knew to keep moving forward.
As I continued my walk, I reached the gate of Mr. Ngirwa’s home. Like always, I knocked politely, hoping there might be some empty bottles I could collect. But instead of simply giving me bottles and sending me away, Mr. Ngirwa stopped and took the time to truly see me not just as someone collecting plastic, but as a person with dreams and potential.
He spoke with me kindly and later invited my parents so we could talk together. During that conversation, he shared his vision for the Muinue program that would use music as therapy to bring healing, expression, confidence, and hope to people with special needs.
For the first time, someone believed that music could also be part of my future.
That day, something beautiful began. I became the very first person to join Muinue. From the moment I heard about the program, I felt something inside my heart because I truly love music.
What started as a simple knock on a gate turned into an opportunity to be part of something meaningful, something that could change lives.
That moment reminded me that sometimes the smallest step even knocking on a gate can open the door to a completely new future.
